Happy Heart
Want to create something special for your friends or loved ones on Valentine's Day? Whip up a few of these crocheted hearts from Bella Dia. They're great for decorating, or tuck one into a pocket as a cuddly reminder of how much love and affection knitters have to give.

New Year's Renewal
As we enter the new year possibly a bit drained after the holiday season, a great way to recuperate is with a personal project. Knit something sparkly and dazzling for the cool months ahead. After all, what's better than tucking in and having a good knit? Take a little time to focus on yourself as we jump into 2009.
This super-chic hairpin lace shawl pattern from Vogue Knitting might put you in the mood to tackle something fun and flaunty.

Taking Socks to the Next Level
The latest graduates of Soul Spun's Sock Knitting class (a two-part session taught by Judy on October 25 and November 12) have produced some beautiful treasures. The results include a fabulous Christmas stocking and several pairs of super cozy socks.
Sock knitting is fun, and much easier than it might look to those who are checking it out for the first time! Check out the Soul Spun Yarn course listing on the store's website for the next class on this topic.
Meanwhile, for those who have already knit pair after pair of fun stripey socks, it's time to expand your skills. Check out this fun Socks 102 article from Knitty.

Great Beanie Pattern!
So by now we can all tell I'm a little obsessed with SweateBabe.com. They have so many great patterns. Ribbed beanies are great because they stretch to fit and keep their shape over time.
